J.T. Lloyd, co-owner of Johnson Creek Tavern called the donation "an honor... the least we can do for them" at today's event on St. Helena Island, SC. Thousands of one dollar bills had lined the walls of the restaurant as patrons had tacked them over almost every conceivable surface in the place.
All told, donations appear to be approximately $12,000, and will go entirely to supporting Honor Flight Savannah's efforts to take veterans to see their memorials in Washington, D.C. Some of the media coverage can be found below:
